About your Course

This level 3 award in canine care, behaviour and welfare will develop your skills to properly care for canines in a professional canine care setting.

You will learn to understand body language, signs of stress and common behavioural issues. All of which will help you in your career working in a kennel, dog day care or home boarding setting.

You will have the knowledge needed to properly care for the dogs in your charge, keeping them fit and healthy through proper disease prevention and diet management. You will also be able to spot signs of stress and aggression and take steps to maintain the animal’s emotional welfare.

Learning how to properly support an animal when coming into and leaving a kennel setting will also be covered in this course. This will help you to settle the animal quickly, minimising distress and avoiding the animal harming itself or others.

This course will give you the core skills needed to start a new career in canine care and management as well as provide you with the foundation to develop your knowledge through further studies.

Entry Requirements

You don't need any prior knowledge or experience, however, you will need to be aged 16 or above to enrol.

Average completion timeframe

You have 24 months to complete your course.

Certification Timeframe

Learners can expect their certification within 6 months of completing the course, following the (EQA) External Quality Assurance of assessment.

Course Fees
