This distance learning course has everything you need to take you from newbie to child day care professional. There is no need for previous experience or qualifications. Throughout the course you will find everything you need to know in order to kickstart your career in child care, or even setup your own business.

What happens after the course?

Successful completion of this course means you will be equipped with key technical skills such as understanding the OFSTED guidelines, designing programmes and activities appropriate to children’s needs, legal matters in the daily administration of a day care centre, or how to deal with quality assurance and parental inspections. You will also explore the soft skills that will make you a successful child care provider: caring and nurturing, excellent communication skills and the ability to listen, staying calm in stressful situations, creativity, problem-solving ability.

Upon completion of this course you are eligible to join the Qualifications Register as well as the Affiliation of Ethical & Professional Therapists. You may find you would like to complement this course with further studies in early childhood.

This child day care course does not restrict you to just day care work. You might find healthcare, community or educational specialisations would suit you better. Entry Requirements

There is no experience or previous qualifications required for enrolment on this course. It is available to all students, of all academic backgrounds.

All course fees, inclusive of all payment plans including our Premium Credit Limited option, must be settled before certification can be ordered.

*You will have access to the course for 24 months.

At the end of this course successful learners will be given the option to receive a Certificate of Achievement from the Quality Licence Scheme and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the components the learner has completed as part of the course).

Level 3 Child Day Care Certificate of Achievement

The course has been endorsed under the Quality Licence Scheme. This means that learndirect has undergone an external quality check to ensure that the organisation and the courses it offers, meet defined quality criteria. The completion of this course alone does not lead to a regulated qualification* but may be used as evidence of knowledge and skills gained. The Learner Unit Summary may be used as evidence towards Recognition of Prior Learning if you wish to progress your studies in this subject. To this end the learning outcomes of the course have been benchmarked at Level 3 against level descriptors published by Ofqual, to indicate the depth of study and level of demand/complexity involved in successful completion by the learner.

The course itself has been designed learndirect to meet specific learners’ and/or employers’ requirements which cannot be satisfied through current regulated qualifications. The Quality Licence Scheme endorsement involves robust and rigorous quality audits by external auditors to ensure quality is continually met. A review of courses is carried out as part of the endorsement process.
